Marie’s Robotic Hysterectomy

I had Endometriosis, Painful ALL MY LIFE! Finished having children 18.5 years ago. Was time for the pain to go. I had also started early menopause (at 45yrs), so the choice for this surgery was not a difficult one.

Surgery went well, was expecting a lot more pain for longer (little did I know that it was coming)

General anesthesia was given and I stayed in the hospital overnight.

I had a hysterectomy June 13th, 2018. About 2.5 weeks after my surgery, I felt great, I know, they say don’t be fooled, take it easy…yada yada yada. Well, as a Registered Nurse (Disabled since 2015), I know better than my doctor, hmmm. Anyhow, decided to do a load of laundry and remember, clear as day, heading up the steps with the laundry basket and an excruciating pain shot through my abdomen. Oh CRAP! I went to see my gynecologist, he felt around on my stomach and came to the conclusion that I have a hernia, even after I told him the truth about me possibly doing too much and hurting myself AND the pain being so bad and chronic. Anyhow, I had a colonoscopy 3 days before my hernia surgery, result were all clear and no issues to be seen. I had the hernia repair on October 10th, 2018. Here I am 2.75 months later, pain is still here, STILL chronic and getting worse.

My pain is my entire abdomen now, it started out just as under umbilicus and lower right abdominal pain. I cannot get comfortable, sleeping is a major challenge since the pain does not go away. i do NOT take pain pills, I use CBD products and swear by them for my Fibromyalgia, however CBD does absolutely NOTHING for this abdominal pain. It is full muscle pain and my stomach stays rigid. I have seen many doctors and everyone is at a loss. I have an appointment to schedule an upcoming exploratory surgery (I am worried about). I just cannot deal with this pain.

Yes, I am glad that I had the hysterectomy because the pain that I was having all my life definitely needed to GO. I would just like to find out exactly what is wrong with me now. Excruciating chronic abdominal pain since 2/3 weeks after surgery. No doctor has an answer, it is almost as if they believe I am making the pain up. I am very frustrated and at a loss. Need answers badly.

TAKE IT EASY WHILE RECOVERING, even if you feel FANTASTIC! It is a lie, your body lies : )
