Burning Sensation after Hysterectomy
A burning sensation is common right after your hysterectomy because of the cutting that was done internally and externally (if you had an abdominal hysterectomy). It can feel like a burning or stinging sensation and is quite normal most of the time. It is also often described as a feeling similar to sunburn.
Some doctors have explained that the “burning site” may be related to the location of ligaments clipped from the removed organs creating the source of “burning” which is indeed cut tissue.
As a side note, while most women experience a normal recovery time from their hysterectomy, others report taking up to several months before they feel as though they have recovered from surgery. Sometimes our bodies just do not bounce back quickly.
It is very normal to think you are doing well, feeling good, then wake up one morning and feel awful and want to sleep all day.
